In the loft, there is a master suite with full bath. On the main level, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. This floor also has an open concept kitchen, dining and living area perfect for entertaining. Chefs will love the Viking appliances. The lower level has a great room, wet-bar, fourth bedroom and bathroom. The home features 2 fireplaces, screen porch and deck areas. The paved drive meanders through the deep and wooded lot. It is one of the cleanest and largest lakes in the county and is known for excellent fishing, sailing, exploring and water sports. The home is located in William's Bay which is protected from the waves that sometimes can inhibit water sports. Additionally, Grindstone Lake is connected to Lac Courte Orielles though Little Grindstone. It can take some maneuvering to get under the bridge - but you can have access to both lakes. We go back and forth with a 20 foot pontoon all the time. There are PLENTY of year round activities. The property is only 6 miles to Hayward. Welcome to the Black Dog Beach Club! This is one of the nicest and newest family cabins on Grindstone Lake. We built it in 2005 and have made major updates every year since then. Each room has a theme! Two bedrooms are on the first floor (known as the Bear Den and the Mooster Suite), as well as a bathroom (the Fishing Hole), a spacious kitchen. Dining area and living room. This rustic chalet with pine walls and maple floors also has a loft that sleeps an additional 4 people. A third bedroom (the Looney Bin) is in the cozy finished basement, along with a second bathroom (the Dock Diving Academy) and large family room (the Birkie Lounge). The Mooster Suite has a king bed, the Bear Den has a queen size and the Looney Bin has a full sized. The home also features two fireplaces on main and lower level. Conduct business in paradise with wifi, private desk and laser printer. Enjoy the game or watch movies on a rainy day on the two flat screen tvs with charter hd cable, surround sound, blu ray players and Xbox 360 in the loft. The kitchen will support your largest family meals. It has granite counter tops, large full sized stainless appliances, an eat in kitchen island and dining room space for 8-10 people. Well maintained boat landing nearby for easy daily access to the lake! Grindstone Lake is a clean, spring fed lake with fabulous fishing (musky, walleye, northern, bass, etc). Other popular lake activities include: swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, wave runners, small sailboats, water skiing, and kayaking. There is a public park with a sandy beach and large grassy are with picnic benches down the road for daily access to the water and picnicking or BBQ-ing. There is ample room at the cabin to park a boat trailer in the evening. While there is not a boat dock associated with this cabin rental, many people put their boat in and out daily and anchor at the sandbar for daytime fun in the sun! Please note: This property is not on lake frontage but is across the road from the lake. There is not direct access to the lake from the cabin, but there is public access just down the road with a sandy beach and picnic area. The small historic town of Hayward is about an 18 minute pleasant drive from the cabin. Be sure to visit Main Street with its charm and interesting shops - including the best ice cream and home-made fudge ever! Antique shops abound in the area. Mondays offer the local Farmer's Market and large indoor/outdoor flea market. There are wonderful restaurants in the area, many of which offer free live entertainment on the weekends from both local and traveling musicians. If you want some river time - the Namakagon River is great for a leisurely afternoon's paddle. The Brule River has some non-expert level but exciting white water with canoe rentals available nearby. Spider Lake Ranch offers guided horseback riding through the woods. Town also has mini-golf and go-cart rides to keep the kids entertained. There are also two local golf courses. Lac Courte Oreilles is also connected to Grindstone Lake which is over 3000 acres, and makes for a great day trip with light shallow hull boat or pontoon. The bottom gently tapers from nothing at shore, to 3 feet deep at the swimming area at the end of the new 30 foot 'L' shaped dock with large sitting area. From there it continues to gently taper out to about ten feet deep, and stays level for approximately 40 yards. This water is absolutely crystal clear ALL year long -drop a dime off the end of the dock and you can still see it! The living room hosts a beautiful view of the lake with a wall of windows. There is a walk out screened in porch next to the living room. Full service kitchen is located off the entry. The downstairs has built-in twin over full bunks, living area seating, and a nursery! In the basement you will also find a washer and dryer for your convenience. **Cable, Wi-Fi, Local Phone package included. We have several cabins on this lake so it's first come first server for the pontoon and it often books up early. Your Bayshore Retreat rental also includes a private dock to dock your boat. Additional water toys and boats are available to rent on the lake. Several well maintained public boat launches are also located near the cabin. Power is available at the lake shore for charging boat batteries etc. Fire pit and gas or charcoal grill- There is a nice fire pit by the lake for you to use during your stay. Our beach and lakefront lawn are nearly level and flow right up to the home which is just 75’ from the water’s edge. There are just two steps from the main floor to the lawn. Runamuk has a sandy swimming beach, sandy bottom, and our lake has a gentle sloping bottom. At the end of our dock it’s about 4’ deep. Durphee Lake is excellent for pan fishing right off the dock or out in your fishing boat. It’s big enough for power boats and jet skis (personal watercraft) but quiet and low-traffic enough to enjoy the great outdoors. Be sure and ask about our pontoon or fishing boat rental to augment your stay. Housekeeping, Linens, Towels, etc.: Along with the fully-equipped kitchen we will provide dish washing & dishwasher soap, trash bags, outside large – capacity trash can, paper towels, kitchen towels, bath and beach towels, etc., as well as all linens. To ensure consistent standards Runamuk has a mandatory cleaning service requirements. Guests are still required to clean the grill, empty trash cans, and replenish firewood in the woodhouse from the bulk wood behind the garage. The dishwasher should be started before guests leave. Beds should remain unmade as our staff will strip the beds and put clean sheets on. We ask our guests to put dirty linens in the provided hampers and to remove dirty sheets, pillowcases, etc. but leave them on the beds. It's clear clean water is excellent for swimming, skiing and fishing. The lake has a secret sand bar where boaters like to anchor and swim but the majority of the lake is generally fairly deep and has a sandy bottom. We rent out two 2021 Benningtons, one with a 90/125 HP motors ea. We have 4 cabins on this lake so it's first come first server for the pontoon and it often books up early. Your Majestic Retreat rental also includes a private dock to dock your boat, a rowboat and a canoe for you to use during your stay. Additional water toys and boats are available to rent on the lake. Welcome to Hayward, one of Wisconsin’s best vacation spots. This area has it all...fishing, golfing, ATV trail-riding, dining, shopping. In winter: snowmobiling, ice fishing, fat-tire biking, and of course, miles of cross country ski trails. And what better place to enjoy it all from than our little hideaway. Enjoy sunrise and your morning coffee from the lakeside deck, or end your day with a campfire overlooking the lake, listening to the call of the loons. The Space: Our cabin enjoys beautiful lake views and 100 feet of private frontage on Gurno Lake, a small, quiet lake, without a developed boat launch, and consequently, very little fishing pressure. On most days you’ll probably see more loons and eagles than people. The provided canoe and two kayaks are the best way to explore the lake, and fish for walleye, largemouth, or crappies. We have great swimming as well. Recent high water has covered our beach, but we have a dock and steps into the water, providing easy access in and out. This is a very comfortable and complete cabin. A fully stocked kitchen provides the tools you’ll need for preparing just about anything. The open living/dining area has great views of the lake, as does the master bedroom. The two bedrooms, plus a living room futon provide enough sleeping space for up to six guests. The spacious bathroom includes a stand up shower and a large, jetted soaking tub. We provide high-speed WiFi internet, and a smart TV with access to network channels (YouTube TV), as well as Netflix, Disney Plus, and Pandora. A large wall AC unit in the master bedroom cools the entire cabin in the summer and a gas fireplace makes for a little extra warmth in winter. You'll also have access to on-site laundry, and enough garage space for one car, or a couple snowmobiles. Other things to note: As noted above, high water in recent years has covered our beach. If you would like to visit a public beach, we have a list of area beaches in the cabin. The Neighborhood: This is a quiet neighborhood and a lake that has no public access. We have many guests who enjoy the peacefulness our lake provides. Others get their big-water fix by trailering their boats a short distance to the nearby world-class lakes which surround us, including Round Lake, Lac Courte Oreilles (of world record Musky fame), and the Chippewa Flowage. If you don't have a boat, we can help you arrange for daily rentals on any of these lakes. Getting Around: We're only about 10 miles from the village of Hayward, and its many shops, restaurants, bars and essentials-markets, including a large grocery store (Market Place) and a Walmart. ATV and snowmobile trails are easily accessed from our property, and can take you all over northwestern Wisconsin.
